An Artist's studio space is where all the magic happens. Some of the Artists on our tours have kindly opened up their often closely guarded spaces of privacy and solitude, so that you can see where the story begins.

Wine & Art Tour St Kilda

Our art tours provide the perfect environment for meeting like-minded people, with plenty of fun to be had along the way.

Each tour includes five very different studios and galleries. You will meet the artists or curators in their space and become immersed in their stories creating a tangible connection between yourself and the art.

The journey covers a wide range of mediums and styles ranging from abstract, contemporary and modern to bespoke lighting and two Indigenous galleries. Those curious about the artistic process will love visiting the warehouse containing the studios of 20 artists in residence. One of our mainstay stops also includes multi-cultural, hand-made crafts and jewellery.

St Kilda East

Meet: At Newmarket Hotel, 34 Inkerman St, St Kilda at 1.20pm

Catch the #67 tram from the CBD down St Kilda Rd and get off at Inkerman St,  Cross St Kilda Rd and walk 30 metres down Inkerman to the Newmarket Hotel on the right.

Arrive early at this funky, popular St Kilda bar and restaurant and either enjoy a light lunch or glass of wine before we head off.

A short walk takes us to the famous Jackman Gallery and beyond, where we’ll discover the stories behind the art and the artists in a diverse range of galleries and studios in East St Kilda.

People love meeting Ilan from Ilanel Lighting and hearing about how his team creates individual bespoke lighting pieces which are in themselves, a piece of art.  All hand-made, Ilan’s stunning unique designer lights  are shipped all over the world.

We’ll then head to Vivien Anderson Gallery, a veteran Indigenous art curator of 30 years featuring quality Aboriginal art from the Central Desert and Arnhem land areas of the Northern Territory.

Next we visit another special gallery – Brightspace with owner Kylie Greer who has been featuring artists from all over Melbourne and Australia for 20 plus years.

Around the corner is Victor and his brother Pedro from Venezuela who are the curators of  exhibitions at 4Dverse Gallery.  With regular local, national and international exhibitions, 4Dverse never ceases to amaze visitors.

Be sure to visit them for the Hola Melbourne Festival happening from 13-29 September featuring many events of Latin American Culture and Ideas.

Last but not least we finish at Space2B Social Design which is a multi-cultural hub for both Australian artists as well as newly arrived immigrants and refugee creators and makers.  With a retail shop as well as a gallery, there’s something for everyone here.

Catch the #78 tram from Space2B or walk up to Carlisle St and catch the #16 or 3a back to the CBD. Alternatively, walk around the corner to Carlisle St and catch the Sandringham line train from Balaclava Station back to the city.
