St Kilda is home to a plethora of quality artists, often tucked away in side streets and invisible to the public. St Kilda Art Tours gives people the opportunity to meet the artist, and gain an in-depth insight into their work, offering participants the opportunity to immerse themselves in the story and connect on a deeper level. It is an experiential journey and offers a rare insight into the world of the artist themselves.
There’s plenty on offer to take home with gifts or quality art works to suit any budget. The paintings vary immensely in size, style and price and cover a range of modern contemporary, conceptual, abstract and textile pieces – suitable for any home or office.
The next Wine and Art tour will be be on Saturday 14, and 21 September, then 19 October incorporating 6 galleries or studios. This tour is most popular with people other than just art lovers! Wine and food will be supplied at one venue.
Tours cover two Precincts – Precinct 1: St Kilda East (Wine and Art Tour) or St Kilda Central. Alternatively, tours can be tailor-made to suit groups of 6-10, any day of the week (subject to artist availability). The tours take 3 hours and are an easy walk covering approximately 1.2km round trip. The Wine & Art tour allows a bit more time taking 4 hours.
Violet Browne, an experienced tour guide conducts the walks /tours and all tours include artist talks; exhibition notes and nibbles en route. Wine & Art tour includes light lunch and nibbles as well as wine at two venues.
Prices start at $65.00 with the Wine and Art tour costing $65.00 as an introductory offer or two for $110.
